If the idea is to impact the largest possible number of lives in the best possible ways, entrepreneurs have a claim to goodness as much as anyone else. There is no discounting political leaders, people who run non profits, and others. But in a functioning society, 90% of the people depend on entrepreneurs delivering for goodness happening in their lives. It is a symbiosis. Entrepreneurs depend on the public sector for the good roads, the infrastructure, the public schools that educate the workforce, the expensive research sponsored by governments. Governments depend on entrepreneurs for their taxes. And we don’t need clear boundaries. Different sectors feed on each other constantly.
And it is not just about public service. You can admire entrepreneurs in action like you can admire great soccer players in action. They are a joy to watch. There is the people bucket, there is the cash at hand bucket, and there is technology.
